Metamorphosis is a recreational outing group which provides opportunities for 'just hanging out" targeting middle/high school students with Asperger's Syndrome, NLD and PDD sponsored. This is just one of the events provided by The Center for Understanding which is an individual/family support center for families affected by ASDs.
For this group, we create opportunities for social outings to allow for naturalistic experiences in the community. Other students with more involved difficulties can attend with a peer mentor (sibling, friend from church etc) however, this is an adult free zone. For this reason, every family needs to contact us in advance of their first meeting to make sure this opportunity is a 'match' for everyone.
Each person pays their own admission to activities. A small contribution toward the expenses of peer volunteer admissions is greatly appreciated.
IF YOU KNOW A HIGH SCHOOL AGED TEEN OR COLLEGE STUDENT WHO IS INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS, WE PROVIDE WICKEDLY AWESOME FUN WITH A FABULOUS LETTER OF REFERENCE!
